We are October.

About October

We help design and architecture brands communicate their work better.

We work to understand who you are and how best to communicate that via the multiple channels available to us today. Marketing has changed and we’ve embraced this by championing new media when it is the best route to get your message in front of your audience.

We’re not like most agencies, we work very closely with you, as we know your time is precious and you need our support to do your job better. We can help you with Press & Public Relations, Blogger Outreach, Content Marketing, Social Media, eCommerce & Conversion Optimisation (CRO), Events, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Adwords & PPC and Email Marketing.

Bringing a decade of experience working for small, medium, and global brands, October have a reputation for delivering high-quality campaigns that raise awareness and capture data from potential customers.

Public Relations

We can promote product launches, collaborations and business stories through press releases, PDF reports and regular press liaison.

We proactively seek opportunities through our extensive journalist relationships to position you as the go-to brand in the UK market.

October arrange regular meetings with lifestyle journalists to find out exactly what they are working on for upcoming issues and to pitch in our own ideas for features.

Press Office

We receive daily requests from journalists looking for products and can respond with relevant products.  We use a number of online tools for image storage, distribution and press requests.

All press coverage can be monitored and a coverage report sent to clients on a monthly basis.

Through our network of design industry contacts, we regularly create partnerships and collaborations for our clients to raise awareness.

October can use this network to create opportunities for you to build upon the existing network and help to create leads and opportunities for sales.

Blogger & Influencer Relations

As design bloggers ourselves, we are able to understand what makes a good blogger campaign.

Our individual relationships with bloggers allow us to have a very organic approach and we are skilled at presenting events that will encourage blogger activity.

October can create a plan that will optimise the coverage for you while continuing to grow a valuable relationship that can be utilised in the future.

Content Marketing

Content marketing’s purpose is to attract and retain clients by consistently creating and curating relevant and valuable content with the intention of changing or enhancing consumer behaviour. It is an ongoing process that is best integrated into your overall marketing strategy, and it focuses on owning media, not renting it.

The key purpose for using content within the marketing strategy is to tell your story. We will develop a plan with you for producing great quality content and distributing it through a variety of channels.

Email Marketing

If it isn’t already, email should be a key channel for you. Dividing the content by the type of subscriber we can create multiple email newsletters to target the different audiences.

Engaging audiences with imaginative content is vital and October can help strategise for a newsletter plan to help convert and increase leads.

Increasing subscriptions to the newsletter can be achieved with downloadable content and driving sign-ups.

Social Media Marketing

With 71% of all internet users on Facebook, and similar data to support the need to utilise social media sites for marketing, considering regular activities via social media will keep costs low and target a global audience.

Being personal, open, friendly, informative and authoritative is the best approach to engaging an audience. We will discuss the best content ideas to build and engage your audience.

To do this, we will use a funnel-based approach:

  • Build—building followers, likes and connections
  • Engage—what the brand has to offer
  • Amplify—creating ambassadors

We are highly-skilled at social media marketing and can support you on the current activity.

Using social media we can create awareness of your brand and create a soft touch-point for your audience as well as supporting the brand narrative and values.

We are specifically interested in how we could support growth via video channels and the sites, such as Pinterest, which can be a significant traffic driver.

We would support your existing social media work with a base of content to ensure that there is daily content being produced and distributed allowing you to build upon that with personal interactions and time-sensitive content.

Search Engine Optimisation

SEO is a big part of driving more focused traffic to any website.

We would start with an audit of the current website, keyword research and seek opportunities to find traffic sources for these.

Implementing the results can be completed by us, optimising the website fully as quickly as possible.  We will work closely with you to make sure that the knowledge is growing with the internal team.

To support the growth of the domain authority and help your pages appear higher in the search results, an influencer outreach programme should be created.

This will tie in with awareness, therefore it has two goals in mind.  Some paid activity may be required, however this would be discussed prior to building the campaign.

Working with online influencers can be a fast way to grow awareness in a market, whether they are Bloggers, Instagrammers, Vloggers etc.

We make it a rule when hiring that social media or blogging must be part of their own personal activities to ensure that we all understand how to approach bloggers and influencers without using the usual agency techniques. This authentic approach is what stands us apart from our competitors.

We will never bombard bloggers with a blanket email inviting them to ‘work with our client’, instead we take a longer-term view of building relationships on your behalf so that they are keen to hear about campaigns when the time arises.

Conversion Rate Optimisation

CRO is the method of using analytics and user feedback to improve the performance of your website.

Conversion Rate Optimisation is a structured and systematic approach to improving the performance of your website.

  • Informed by insights—specifically, analytics and user feedback
  • Defined by your website’s unique objectives and needs (KPIs)
  • Taking the traffic you already have and making the most of it

Conversion Rate Optimisation is not:

  • Based on guesses, hunches, or what everyone else is doing
  • Driven by the highest paid person’s opinion
  • About getting as many users as possible, regardless of quality or engagement

Adwords / Pay-Per-Click

We work closely with Google on all of our clients, speaking regularly with our account manager to optimise the Adwords accounts.

We would add tracking codes to your website enquiry buttons so that we can see the sources driving the most enquiries, along with the other sources helping to support this.

All of this work is accountable and trackable which allows us to be efficient with any budgets proposed for this.

This activity may not start straight away, however we will create a plan and discuss it with you early on so that we can look at a timeline for implementation.
